I think there is very slow seepage around the plastic back nut on the bottom of the Fluidmaster. The Fluidmaster flush valve is a float-type assembly installed in a toilet's tank that regulates the water level in the tank. The bottom of the assembly is connected to the water supply fitting at the bottom of the tank. The top of the assembly that contains a plastic cup-type float. When the water level reaches a pre-set level, the float cup -- attached to a lever arm -- shuts off the water supply. Over time, debris or calcium deposits can prevent the float assembly from shutting off the water flow, causing the tank to 'run' constantly. An old, deteriorated seal may also cause similar problems. Fixing a faulty flush valve takes just a few minutes and no tools.

Turn off the water shutoff valve and flush the toilet to empty the tank.

Remove the tank lid and set it aside. Be careful to not chip the porcelain.

Reach into the tank and lift up on the plastic float cup until it tops out. Grasp the shaft under the cup to prevent it from falling back down.

Grasp the top of the cup with your other hand and, while prying the lever arm slightly away with your thumb, rotate the cup one-eighth of a turn counterclockwise. In other words, if you are looking down on to the top of the cup, turn it to the left. Remove the cup.

Remove old seal under the plastic cup and install the new one.

Pro45b Fluidmaster Fill Valve
Place a disposable plastic drink cup upside-down over the top of the shaft and turn on the water supply. Run the water for 10 to 15 seconds to flush out debris. The plastic drink cup directs water down into the tank. Turn off the water supply.

Push the float cup down on to the valve shaft and turn it one-eighth turn clockwise to lock it into place. Ensure that the clip at the end of the float cup clicks into the groove on the lever arm.
Warning
- Do not pry too hard when disassembling or assembling the flush valve. The pieces are plastic and may break.
